Toshi

Since the birth of blockchain technology, I have created works dealing with smart contracts, their standards, and forms of organization. My works include "The Ten Thousand" (2022), a contract that satisfies only the minimum conditions required to be displayed as an NFT; "OpenTransfer" (2022), a token that can be transferred by anyone; and "PlayTrain" (2023–24), which connects ENS subnames to form a single train. Through tiny interventions in standards, I have continually questioned what underpins digital ownership and identity.
