《NEW TRUTH》 is an exhibition or body of works centered on the idea that truth and value are not found inside an image, but are instead assigned to it. In this framework, the artists give the image value once, and the viewer, standing before the work, gives it again. The project emphasizes not immediate belief, but a slight delay: a moment of attention that allows each person to decide, by their own hand, what they are prepared to believe.
The concept begins from the gap between image and reality. It asks whether photography has ever truly been a record of truth, since photographs can look like the world without being the world itself, and their resemblance is often mistaken for evidence. In 《NEW TRUTH》, the works are still images extracted from synthesized video. The model that generated them was trained in part on photographs of Los Angeles and Berlin taken by the artist. What appears, then, is something hallucinated from archives that once documented those cities: a hybrid place that feels familiar yet cannot be found anywhere. It is a “real truth” that never actually happened.
Within the context of post-truth culture, deepfakes, and information manipulation, the work questions where reality ends and truth begins. It does not claim that images are false in a simple sense; rather, it shows how images can be persuasive, evidentiary, and unstable at the same time.
