In the context of this exhibition, “Out Game” refers to the layer of reality that lies outside, or overlaps with, a gamified world. The exhibition does not present ARG (Alternate Reality Game) as a finished genre or fully playable system. Instead, it examines how reality and fiction, game and society, and institutions and play can intersect and intrude into everyday life. Within that framework, Out Game functions as a way to think about what falls outside game rules and progression: the social, environmental, and political realities that remain after the game-like lens has been applied.

The source text describes a condition in which people may come to view climate change, environmental burden, conflict, prejudice, and inequality from a detached position, almost as if watching game commentary, because they have become players inside a huge “magic circle.” Out Game responds to that condition by treating such “unplayable” realities not as background, but as the very field where a new meta must be implemented. It points toward the need to break the circle and develop an expanded future within actual reality.

In short, Out Game names an attempt to move beyond the closed logic of play and to reframe reality itself as the site where change, intervention, and a possible “true ending” must be pursued.
